Kim Ng: First Woman MLB General Manager (Video)
Kim Ng is in the running for the first female general manager of a Major League Baseball team. The 39-year-old current assistant general manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers had set a record in 2005 when she became the first woman to interview for the GM position with the Dodgers, but narrowly lost to Ned Colletti. Now, she may finally be about to secure the GM job for the Seattle Mariners, which has been on a 100-game losing streak.
After graduating from the University of Chicago, Kim Ng took her four years of collegiate softball experience and interned as a research assistant with the White Sox where she applied computers to analyze baseball statistics. In 1997, she became the assistant GM for the New York Yankees, making her the youngest to hold that position at age 29.
Regarding the possibility of hiring Kim Ng, Charles Armstrong, the president of the Seattle Mariners, who is desperate for "some fresh thinking", replied, "We're color blind, gender blind. We just want the best person that we think would be the best person for the Mariners as we move forward."

Kathy Fuld, Wife of Lehman CEO, Dumps Art Portfolio
Kathy Fuld will be selling $20 million worth of art works. She is the wife of Richard Fuld, the CEO of Lehman Brothers, which filed for bankruptcy on September 15. Although her decision to auction off part of her art collection came only days after the fourth-largest investment bank in the U.S. failed, it's unlikely to be a matter of financial necessity, but it's always possible the Fulds need more liquidity to fund their extravagant lifestyle. Her husband took in $34.4 million as chief executive of Lehman in 2007.
As vice chairman of the board of trustees of the New York Museum of Modern Art, Kathy Fuld is an avid art collector, especially of drawings on paper. Christie's Internation, the London-based auction house, will handle the disposition of her set of Abstract Expressionist drawings, which include works by Willem de Kooning, Arshile Gorky, and Barnett Newman. Each individual piece is expected to fetch anywhere from $2 million upwards to $4 million.
Married to Richard in 1978, Kathy and her husband celebrated their 30th anniversary on September 24, less than 10 days after Lehman's collapse. They have three children named Jacqueline, Chrissie, and Richie.

Jill Nicolini & Anthony Cumia Breakup (Video & Photos)
Jill Nicolini has dumped Anthony Cumia. The 30-year-old traffic reporter for Long Island's CW11 Morning News caught the 45-year-old radio host of "The Opie & Anthony Show" with another woman in August and ended their relationship. Apparently, she discovered his new 20-year-old girlfriend hiding in the closet when she came to visit him.
Speaking on air about his breakup with Jill Nicolini, "Anthony" revealed simply, "I was participating in some extracurricular activities with another female." The pair first met when Jill was invited onto his satellite radio show in July 2007, and earlier this year, they became romantically involved. They became known as "Antholini."
Before she was a reporter, Jill Nicolini competed in the Miss Long Island contest in 2002 and won. Unfortunately, she lost her crown after the contest organizers found out she had posed for "Playboy" as "Jill Nikki" in the Fall 2001 College Girls Special Edition. In addition, she has had a small acting career, appearing on shows like "Sex and the City", reality show "Married in America", and "Law & Order."

Gina Carano Maxim Photos
Gina Carano will be featured in the October edition of "Maxim" magazine. The 26-year-old mixed martial arts fighter is best known for her role as "Crush" on "American Gladiators", which asks participants to endure a series of physical challenges for a chance at a $100,000 prize and has been called the "face of women's MMA."
Unlike other "Maxim" girls, Gina Carano is cutting a more modest figure in her photos, showing minimal skin attired in a pink T-shirt as well as an appropriate boxing outfit. As "Conviction" in the martial arts world, the 144-lb Muay Thai champion has 6 wins under her belt with no losses and has traded on her fighting record to gain entry into the world of Hollywood. Besides TV, she will make her theatrical debut in "Blood and Bone", an action movie scheduled to be released sometime this year.

Vandals in Scandal
The Idaho Vandals cheerleaders are at the enter of a scandal over the length of their uniforms. Fans of the University of Idaho's football team have complained that the two-piece cheerleader uniforms, consisting of a halter top and black skirt, are too skimpy. The dean of students, Bruce Pitman, defended the uniforms, saying that they were similar to NFL cheerleader uniforms, but backed down from the pressure one month into the school year.
From now on, the Idaho Vandals cheerleaders will be wearing black and silver halter tops and skirts six inches longer than before. Ironically, the new uniforms with more cloth cost only $2200, compared to the earlier, skimpier uniforms, which deducted $4200 from the school spirit squad fund.
Uniform fashion doesn't end with the Idaho cheer squad though. The football team was earlier forced to remove the university logo from the back of their pants after several complaints. The school athletic director, Rob Spears, said "nobody realized earlier how the logo would look."
Cheerleader Tragedy
The Idaho cheerleaders' earlier brush with fame came with tragedy. A cheerleader, Angelina Cabrera, died in a car accident after her car hit a patch of ice on Interstate 84. She was returning with her friends to their hometown of Payette, Idaho.

Janet Brannon: Nude Bartender Arrested (Photos)
Janet Brannon was arrested Thursday evening for bartending nude. The 33-year-old bartender at the Cabin Tavern in Delhi, Illinois, was serving patrons when a routine check by sheriff's deputies caught her in the nude.
Upon catching sight of Janet Brannon, they quickly arrested her for misdemeanor public indecency and closed the tavern down since she was the only employee at the time. Although Janet is now out on $8000 bail, the owners of the bar at 29150 Cabin Lane won't be able to rest easy: the Jersey County State's Attorney is looking to impose a fine and take away their liquor license.

Mei Sze Chan is Billionaire Jeff Greene's Wife (Photos)
Mei Sze Chan is the wife of billionaire Jeff Greene. The 32-year-old Australian married the 53-year-old real estate investor on September, 29, 2007 before he appeared on the Forbes 400 list of the richest people in America. His most notable achievement: betting on the misfortunes of ordinary homeowners by buying credit default swaps that profited from the subprime implosion and netting $800 million in profit, boosting his already prodigious net worth to $1.4 billion.
Jeff Greene first met Mei Sze Chan, an ethnic Chinese refugee from Malaysia who first fled to Australia before heading to New York after graduating from college, at a party in the Hamptons whereupon he regaled her with talk of mortgages until sunrise. Within a month, the party-hopping real estate executive was living on his 145-foot yacht, and months later, they were married on his 27-acre Beverly Hills canyon estate, otherwise known as Palazzo di Amore. In attendance at the $1 million extravaganza were Hollywood notables like Oliver Stone, Michael Bay, and Tara Reid with boxer Mike Tyson playing the role of best man.
To implement his risky subprime bet, Jeff Greene went to Merrill Lynch and J.P. Morgan Chase, who agreed to act as counterparties for an asset-back credit default swap, which let him bet on the deterioration of a pool of subprime mortgages composed of Nevada and California loans as well as 2/28 mortgages, which combined initially low teaser rates with much higher interest rates down the line. This was the first time an individual was accepted as a counterparty to this sort of complex derivatives trade, and the success of this trade catapulted him into the billonaire's club.
