Miley Cyrus is in yet another photo scandal. This time it revolves around a "topless" photo of the 15-year-old actress in pop culture magazine "Vanity Fair." An Entertainment Tonight story broke the photos of Miley apparently posing naked from behind, but it may all have been a sensationalized portrayal of what actually happened. All a Mistake
An unknown source close to Miley says:
"The photo suggests that she is [naked], but she is not. She is covered by a sheet, and beneath the sheet she is clothed. Originally, she was in a flesh-colored tank top but was asked to remove it."
Of course, Disney Channel is understandably worried about the cloud of scandal surrounding the star of its family-friendly show "Hannah Montana." Just last week, their teen starlet was found posing in a green bra in leaked MySpace photos. Their perspective is that Miley was "deliberately manipulated" in order to "sell magazines."
In a statement to "People" magazine, Miley apologizes and explains that it was all a mistake:
"My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."
Whether any lasting damage will be done to her following among the tween and teen crowd remains to be seen.
