Sun's Java source code now available

Yesterday, Sun announced it was going to release its Java Platform Micro Edition (Java ME) software for mobile phones and Java Platform Standard Edition (Java SE) software for desktop applications under the open source GPL license. Utilizing the classpath exemption, users can license applications built with Java under a different license.

It'll be interesting to see Microsoft's response to this development. Java is likely to get even more traction after this.

Get the source.
