OneLook: A Unique Reverse Dictionary
There's reverse lookup of phone numbers, but I was surprised to see reverse lookup of dictionary words. At first, I wasn't too impressed, but then I remembered several instances where it would have come in handy. Oftentimes, you might find yourself searching for that perfect word to describe something, but you just can't quite recall it.
With OneLook, you can remedy that tip-of-tongue feeling. All you have to do is describe a concept in a few words, and OneLook will return a list of possible words that relate to the concept. For example, entering something like "urge to travel" brings up wanderlust as the first suggestion.
In addition, for normal dictionary searches, OneLook seems to respond faster than the venerable Dictionary.com. OneLook looks to be a keeper. There's also a bookmarklet and Firefox search plugin available for quick searches.
