Get $50 in Free Books at Sony's eBook Store

As a holiday gift, Sony is giving away $50 dollars in free books at its eBook Store. These aren't your run-of-the-mill ebooks by authors you've never heard of; instead, the Sony store has a large collection of bestsellers and newly released books from The Golden Compass to the latest Sue Grafton book.

Follow the steps below to redeem your gift certificate:

1. Download and install the eBook Library software from the Sony website.

2. Run the software and click on eBook Store on the left navigation panel.

3. Click Register to sign up for a new account. You can skip entering your credit card details during the sign-up process.

4. After that's done, click on Account and select "Redeem a code". Enter "HOLIDAYGIFT" without quotes into the box and click Redeem to get your $50 gift.

5. Go stock up on some ebooks.

Update: Looks like the offer was too popular so the gift code no longer works.
