Simple Amazon Shopping Hacks to Find After Christmas Deals

The big retailers have been drastically slashing prices in the wake of disappointing holiday sales. If you'd rather do you post-Christmas shopping online though, you can either browse a site like Amazon.com at random to find good deals or conduct searches with a little more specificity. Whether you're looking for a Prada Sport Women's Mini Nylon Handbag at a 90% discount or a Motorola Bluetooth Headset for $30, you can speed up your deal hunting with a couple simple search tweaks.

We'll be looking at Amazon.com specifically, which did quite well this holiday season. You'll be working with a URL like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?node=1036592&pct-off=90-

What does it mean? The node number 1036592 tells Amazon to conduct a search in the Apparel department. &pct-off=90- tells Amazon to return products that discounted 90% or more. The combination of the two numbers tells Amazon to return Apparel items discounted at least 90%.

So all you need to do is modify these two numbers to do any kind of search you can imagine.

Use the following list of node numbers to search different Amazon departments:

Node 16310091 - Industrial &; Scientific
Node 172526 - GPS and Navigation
Node 165796011 - Baby

Node 3760901 - Health & Personal Care
Node 3375251 - Sports & Outdoors

Let's look at a final example. Say you want to do a search for Beauty products discounted between 50 and 80 percent. You'd end up with this URL: http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?node=3760911&pct-off=50-80

Now, you give it a try.
