Play DivX and Xvid Movies from RAR Files Before You Finish Downloading
Anti-P2P companies like MediaDefender routinely seed BitTorrent and other P2P sites with fake copyrighted movies and TV shows so it's very possible that you're not actually downloading a real copy of "Resident Evil: Extinction" or "Good Luck Chuck".
So besides relying on other people's comments on the genuineness of the file you're downloading, you can also use RAR Player to preview part of a movie before you finish downloading it completely. You'll often see videos compressed and split into RAR files for easier downloading instead of as regular video files which is where RAR Player comes in.
Based on the open-source media player MPlayer, RAR Player plays DVDs, DivX and Xvid AVIs, and many other video file formats in addition to playing videos from RAR files. It works just like any other media player except it also supports RAR files.
To preview a RAR file, go to File > Open RAR and select the file you want to check for authenticity. It's also useful if you just want to check the quality of the video encode.
