Unblock Censored Websites (MySpace, YouTube, Facebook)

Whether you're trying to watch a YouTube video in Iran or attempting to update your MySpace profile from school, you face the same problem: censorship.

Luckily, there are plenty of solutions to unblock these popular websites. We'll look at the Privax network of proxy sites today.

The Privax network consists of some 30 proxy sites. This is really useful since you can switch to a different proxy if one site has been blocked by your network's censorship software. They claim to be running the sites on high-performance servers so that should reduce the agonizing wait time that you often face when using web-based proxies.

One unique way they're promoting the network is by offering a web proxy widget that you can embed on your website or blog to let visitors access the proxy network directly from your webpage.

Actually, we kind of lied: you can't use Privax proxies to watch YouTube videos. To do that, you'll need to use a special proxy like YouTubeProxy. But for any standard websites that don't require fancy plugins, Privax should work to let you bypass any restrictions and still offer full functionality.

Great post! But why not to use one software to watch Yourtube and surf the sites? I used to use SmartHide to hide IP online.
