Free Music Downloads at We7: Dave Matthews, Coolio, and More
We7 is taking a somewhat new approach to free music downloads: in return for a short, 10 second long audio ad at the start of a song, you'll be able to download all the tracks you want. We all know that free MP3 sites are a dime a dozen, but there's always room for a legitimate means of downloading music especially for the less adventurous.
The ads won't stay forever though. The idea is to phase out the ads after 4 weeks so you'll suddenly be able to listen the your tracks without annoying ad interruptions. How this will be done is up in the air, but it'll probably involve re-downloading the songs.
Right now, there are about 20 tracks on We7 from the likes of Dave Matthews, Coolio, and Bananarama. The selection is small, but the artists are popular and compelling enough to start drawing in users.Plus, so far, the songs are ad-free: they haven't implemented the ad platform yet. Correction: There's just a short We7 audio ad before the song plays. Tags:
