Evan Rachel Wood has broken up with Marilyn Manson. The 21-year-old actress first started dating the 39-year-old goth rocker in 2006 while he was still married to Dita Von Teese. They first met when she was featured in a music video for his single, "Heart-Shaped Glasses." First reports indicated some disturbing reasons for the break-up, alleging Manson tried to evict her brother Ira:

Evan owned the house and didn't want her unemployed sibling living on the street. It was the tipping point. Evan was fed up with how controlling and emotionally abusive Marilyn was.

However, Evan Rachel Wood quickly defended her former boyfriend, citing career reasons for their separation. She went further in saying, "If any more attacks are made on us, it is the act of a desperate, selfish person, who is angry to no longer be a part of my life."

Despite these protestations, many have wondered about their relationship, citing Evan Rachel Wood's abrupt decision to undergo a makeover from blonde to brunette upon dating Manson, a look identical to his previous wife's.
