Streampad Offers Web-Based Music Mashup
Streampad offers a full featured music application right on the web. It's basically a mashup of a music player, music search engine, and file storage service with a bit of social networking to boot. The closest approximation I can come up with is Songbird, which is a desktop-based music mashup (TechCrunch also made the connection).
You can search for music on the web, download tracks (or play them right on Streampad), and even listen to dozens of concerts (Death Cab for Cutie, Maroon5 among others) in a dedicated tab on the sidebar. Another neat feature is the ability to stream your music library to any computer over the web.
As for social aspects, you can add friends and put down your location on a Google Maps mashup. You can see the list of sites and services that Streampad mashes together here. The whole thing is surprisingly usable given Streampad's cobbed together nature.
