Openserving Offers Free Blog Hosting

Openserving is a Wikia project that lets anyone create a Digg-like blogging community for free. They'll host the site, provide bandwidth, and even give you all the ad revenue. It's essentially bringing the wiki model to blogging with a touch of Digg with the ability to vote articles up and down. Similar to Blogger and other blogging platforms, any blog you set up will be hosted on the openserving.com domain. I'm not sure the world really needs another blogging platform, but perhaps something interesting will develop out of Openserving's collaborative blogs.

Wikia is a for-profit company started by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, and it's not yet clear how they hope to monetize Openserving. However, user-generated content is king nowadays so I'm sure once enough content gets produced, they'll come up with something.Technorati Tags: , , , ,
