Pages Blocked with Internet Explorer 7? You Might Need to Identify as IE6
In a bit of irony, Microsoft has released a small utility that identifies Internet Explorer 7 as IE6 so sites that haven't updated their compatibility settings won't block IE7 users. The User Agent String Utility 2 changes a few registry settings to emulate an IE6 installation so web pages should render correctly and/or won't block users from accessing them.
I'm sure Firefox users have encountered the rare site or two that proudly proclaim to be IE-optimized and block other browsers from viewing the page. Luckily, there are workarounds.
