Google Cross-Language Search Now Live

Google's cross-language search engine has been released. First announced at the Searchology event, which you can view here, the new service lets you enter a query and search for results in another language.

For instance, say you want to look for restaurants in Shanghai, and you think that Chinese-language websites will be less likely to lead you to tourist traps. Enter as your query "shanghai restaurants", choose English as "my language", and select Chinese (Simplified) for the "find results in" box. Now hit Search.

Google will translate "shanghai restaurants" to "上海餐厅" and look for pages that match the Chinese-language query. Then it will translate to English the results that matched.
