Don't Call 911: MMS Them

In the near future, New York City 911 call centers will be able to receive images and video from cell phones and computers. Mayor Bloomberg announced plans to roll these improvements out within the year at his "State of the City" address.

He's not talking only about crime however. You can even report "non-emergency quality of life" concerns via 311 to hold City agencies accountable for correcting them.

Right now, the most high tech way to get arrested is to post your video on YouTube. Before long, an innocent bystander will do all the work for aspiring criminals.

Of course, that's assuming all the competing standards and specifications don't trip you up.
