New York Times Adds Answers.com Reference Search

I just noticed the following "tip" while reading an article at the New York Times:

To find reference information about the words used in this article, hold down the ALT key and click on any word, phrase or name. A new window will open with a dictionary definition or encyclopedia entry.

Definitions are gathered from Answers.com, which is also used by Google for reference information. This follows on from the addition of sharing features to the NY Times a short while back, which let users share and promote articles to Facebook, Digg, and Newsvine.

It's good that they're trying to build out more of a web presence and engage new trends instead of just offering a newspaper online, although the changes so far are cosmetic rather than content-oriented.
