Insert YouTube Videos into PowerPoint Presentation Slides

insert powerpoint video

Adding a video clip to a PowerPoint presentation might seem like overkill with all the other annoying transition and sound effects that many speakers like to use, but sometimes it can actually be helpful.

It's fairly easy to insert a video file into your PowerPoint if you already have it on your computer, but what about if you see a YouTube video on the web that's just perfect for your PowerPoint deck?

One of the first things you should do is copy the URL of the video, and then go to a site like Vixy.net, which will in one step download and convert the video into a convenient format.Just paste in the URL and choose an output format. I suggest either AVI or MOV for maximum compatibility.

Then go to the PowerPoint slide where you want to embed the video, and navigate to Insert -> Movies and Sounds -> Movie from File. Select the video from where you saved it and hit OK.

Finally, choose whether you want to start playing the video automatically, or only after you click on it.

That was a great tip! I used the vixy website, and it worked well. Thanks for sharing.
