Create Your Own Ringtones Using Nokia Composer

Have a creative spark? Don't want to pay for ringtones? Willing to get RSI in your thumbs? Have a Nokia phone? If you answered "yes" to all four of the above, you might want to check out a spreadsheet that the folks over at BotHack have put together, which contains a list of over 800 ringtones you can create using Nokia Composer.

The ringtone list includes songs from the likes of Celine Dion, Eminem, Oasis, and Metallica. You create the ringtones by pressing a long sequence of buttons that map to the right notes, durations, and octaves that make the ringtone sound like the song. I don't have a Nokia phone so I can't test out how faithfully the ringtones reproduce the songs, but it should be worth a try for the curious.

To find out if your Nokia phone has Composer on it, you can take a look at this list, or check your phone, of course. If you don't know how to use the Composer program that came with your phone, this guide will help you figure out which buttons to press.
