IBM Wants Many Eyes
Like the self-described "YouTube for data" Swivel, IBM's Many Eyes project aims to bring the power of human visual intelligence to recognizing patterns in data as diverse as CSCO's historical stock price to your Digg buddies.
The aim of the project is to turn data analysis into a social activity. Many eyes looking at the same data will, ideally, reveal hidden patterns. The site makes it easy to comment on visualizations and download the data to look at yourself. Of course, you can also upload your own data.
Unlike Swivel, Many Eyes doesn't automatically compare data sets in the background and present possible correlations to you.
As with all open sites, there's a risk that the data uploaded by users is bad, either deliberately or accidentally. Sites like Many Eyes build on the Wikipedia model where good enough trumps absolute reliability.
You can also subscribe to a handy RSS feed to keep track of the latest visualizations.
