Option 1: Julien Couvreur's handy Greasemonkey script converts all "mailto:" links so that they open in Gmail, making it your default email application.
First, you need to be running Firefox and have the Greasemonkey extension installed. Then get the Greasemonkey script. Click Install to start using it.

Option 2: The easy way is to install Gmail Notifier, but then you miss out on the benefits of having Greasemonkey installed. Notifier will work even without Firefox. Install it and go to Options. Then check the box next to Use Gmail for internet mailto: links.

option 1 rocks thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI tried Option 2. I tried getting into Options on the gmail notifier icon, butit seems to already have Use Gmail for Internet mailto: Links selected. But it's still not working.
Any ideas on what the problem is and how I can fix it? It had been working fine ever since I got this new computer, but now when I click an email link I just get a blank page with "Loading...".
Thanks!
